Moving towards the final draft of this multimodal essay, I have a few goals in mind that will help me be able to better organize and develop my paper. My goal for this essay is that I want to be able to stop talking myself in circles when it comes to simple concepts. I tend to write in the way I talk and when I talk it generally takes a while to get to the point of what I really want to say. In tandem with this goal comes the idea of not repeating myself too much and making sure to use my words to their utmost usefulness. This will be a tough task to take on. The first thing I will start on will be to pay attention to what I write, and take out any unnecessary words that clutter up an explanation. The greatest obstacle for accomplishing this goal will be myself. It is incredibly difficult to change my writing style when I am already accustomed to writing in this manner. The overcome this challenge I will adapt my writing style so that I can use as few words as possible when explaining something when it really matters. If this proves too challenging for me, I always have peers and friends who will be willing to read my pieces out load so that I can hear my own mistakes. Having the ability to use a peer’s feedback to benefit my writing will be a major resource because having a second, completely different perspective is truly the best thing I can have.
Great! I hope the Klinkinborg exercise we did in class can help you avoid repetition. It can be super tricky tracking what each sentence says, especially when you are trying to relay difficult or complicated ideas.
