My favorite Brainstorming activity would have to be clustering. This strategy is my favorite because it give a sense of artistic freedom and allows the writer to freely explore options that might not be present in other methods of brainstorming.

Great. Sometimes, I’ll encourage students to choose a connective arrow (the arrows and lines that connect one bubble to the other) and free write about the relationship that the arrow represents. It may be worth a try.
