Prioritizing global edits over local edits was a struggle. In some of the edits that I made, I found it hard to criticize an idea that someone had because I did not want to overstep my bounds. When I usually edit, I try to point out little mistakes so I can help essays flow better. And I do believe that making global edits help people in the long run, despite the time that it takes to analyze things further. And when I try to make global edits, sometimes it is difficult because the local thing end up distracting me. What ends up happening is that I need to work around my issues with the local to find the global thoughts. Working with the local helps in the long run to be able to pay attention to the global. Another thing that ends up distracting me when I look for global edits is my need to write a long and thought out piece of advise, because I have a need to look for something that I can write about. Which in turn makes me very picky in what I look for. Contrary to local edits, global edits in my mind serve to help the writer steer their thoughts into a more productive direction, instead of having the writer look to the small issues.
